Film in the Kootenays
The Columbia Valley is gaining recognition as a place where productions can find both remarkable locations and a welcoming, production-ready community. With previous productions including Alive and The Mountain Between Us, the Valley has already played a role on the big screen. Today, Columbia Valley Economic Development is working to build on that history and establish the region as an accessible, film-friendly destination. With support from ETSI-BC and in collaboration with the Kootenay Film Commission, we are developing the resources, local connections, and location library needed to help productions discover—and successfully work in—the Columbia Valley.
